Team High Road training camp
Since I haven't been able to do much riding lately (by choice, I'm a wimp when it comes to sub-zero riding)I thought I would feature some people who are actually riding. My close friend Brian Starr lives in Santa Maria, CA. and caught up with the Team High Road riders preparing for the Tour of California. Brian met up with High Road team owner Bob Stapleton out on a ride and had the opportunity to chat while they rode. Brian also met the team mechanic and has had many opportunites to get close to the riders. Pretty cool. Here in Michigan we are so removed from the buzz while the whole State of California prepares for North America's largest race. Read more from Michael Barry's diary.

Winter Tri Nationals
It's just another day in the office for Mike Kloser as he went on to defend his title and won the Winter Tri Nationals in Bend, Oregon on Saturday, February 9. I've known Mike a long time and he is one of the nicest guys around and truly is an endurance race pioneer. You saw it here first as it's only a matter of time before Winter Tri's make it to Michigan. Race recap here.
MMBA Expo-sure
Today it was sunny and zero degrees with 20 mph winds. For those who rode today I applaud you. I hung out most of the day at the Michigan Mountain Bike Association Expo in Davisburg, MI. It was great to see the many people involved in cycling in our community, meet new people and catch up with old friends. Note to self. Wear warmer clothes and bring some used bike stuff to sell. Below is a 1 second video capturing the vibe. Enjoy.

Horizontal Corduroy
Here's a story from the frozen lands of da UP (Upper Peninsula) about my riding buddy and good friend, Pat Zoob and his role in the XC ski community. I have always loved the corduroy, although it usually included Mach 1 speeds. I would love to spend my day in an office like his. Article here.
